MyoFunctional Therapy, L.L.C.

Airway-focused myofunctional therapy designed to improve oral function, breathing, and overall health through non-invasive, personalized care.

Airway-Focused Therapy

Myofunctional therapy is a specialized, non-invasive treatment that improves how the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue function—especially as it relates to breathing and airway health. This allows for a dedicated, comprehensive approach to addressing the underlying causes of airway and oral muscle dysfunction.

Why Airway Health Matters

Healthy breathing begins with the airway. Ideally, we breathe through the nose, with the tongue resting gently on the roof of the mouth.

When these patterns are disrupted—due to mouth breathing, low tongue posture, or improper swallowing—it can affect both oral health and overall well-being.

These patterns may contribute to:

  • Snoring or poor-quality sleep

  • Daytime fatigue or difficulty focusing

  • Teeth crowding or orthodontic relapse

  • Jaw tension or discomfort

  • Changes in facial development in children

Myofunctional therapy focuses on correcting these patterns to support long-term airway health.

How Myofunctional Therapy Works

Myofunctional therapy uses targeted exercises to retrain the muscles of the tongue, lips, and face.

Each program is personalized to help:

  • Establish proper tongue posture

  • Encourage consistent nasal breathing

  • Improve swallowing patterns

  • Strengthen and coordinate oral muscles

Therapy is guided one-on-one and supported with simple exercises to create lasting change.

Is Myofunctional Therapy right for you?

Myofunctional therapy is appropriate for both children and adults and may be recommended for:

  • Mouth breathing or difficulty breathing through the nose

  • Tongue thrust or improper swallowing

  • Snoring or signs of sleep-disordered breathing

  • Orthodontic concerns or relapse after braces

  • Speech challenges

  • Jaw pain, clenching, or tension

A Collaborative Approach

Myofunctional therapy is a powerful tool for improving breathing, oral function, and overall health—but it’s often just one piece of the bigger picture.

Because every child (and adult) is unique, some patients may benefit from working with additional healthcare providers to support the best possible outcome. When needed, we’ll help guide you toward the right resources and professionals to complement your care.

Think of it as a team approach—all working toward the same goal: helping you or your child breathe better, sleep better, and thrive.

Not every patient will need additional support, but when they do, we’re here to make the process feel simple, clear, and fully supported every step of the way.
